Having been in the financial industry since 2007, Mohamed Derow has extensive experience in the field. His 15 years of experience in finance made him an excellent candidate for the position of Director of Finance at the Somali Natural Resources Research Center.

As part of his professional experience, he was primarily responsible for financial reporting, fraud investigation, budgeting, compliance management, as well as many other duties.

He has worked with numerous public, private, and non-profit organizations worth millions of dollars, including SIMAD University, the Danish Refugee Council, Concern Worldwide, Olympic Petroleum Ltd, the Kush Bank for Agricultural Development, Business Fit International, and Amazon/CEVA Logistics in a variety of countries, including Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Canada.

Mohamed holds an MBA with a specialization in Strategic Management from Kenyatta University, an undergraduate degree in Accounting from SIMAD University, and a post-graduate diploma in financial compliance from Seneca College in Canada.
