Somali Natural Resources Research Center

The Somali Natural Resources Research Center (SONRREC) is a non-profit and independent research organization established in 2016 to manage, protect and shape the country’s natural resources sustainably by strengthening economic well-being and eradicating poverty through evidence-based scientific research, capacity development, and consultancy services. SONRREC was founded by a multi-disciplinary scientist to find scientific-based solutions to the country's challenges on natural resources by actively contributing to the implementation of the National Development Plan to achieve the regional and global strategies for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Vision

To be a global center of excellence for Somalia’s natural resources and associated science-based solutions on natural resources to a prosperous nation.

Mission

To conduct research, capacity building, and consultancy services on sustainable natural resources for socio-economic development.
