Somali Natural Resources Research Center (SONRREC) we offer internship and volunteer opportunities in Somalia for groups and individuals.
This provides members a chance to contribute to one of our projects whilst experiencing life as part of the SONRREC team. We run a various range of programs/projects, so whether you are a professional, researcher, or a student, you will be able to find a volunteer posting in a field that suits your interest, experience or studies.

Join a team of dedicated volunteers who support our free programs and help to empower the next generation of natural resource scientists and conservation leaders. We welcome all types of volunteers, from local citizens to scientists. Our volunteer opportunities range from single-day, one week and one month activities where you can join to year-long as junior or senior researcher.
Our volunteer work process
- Join a visitor tour.We encourage potential volunteers to visit our website to familiarize yourself with SONRREC programs and our range of short-term and long-term volunteer opportunities.
- Submit a volunteer application.If you decide volunteering is right for you, complete application volunteer application form and submit to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once your application is approved (usually within 72 hours), you’ll receive an email from us letting you know you are ready to get started.

During this process, we’ll ask for some essential info about you including your name and contact details. We’ll never share this information to anyone outside of SONRRE team. The information we collect helps us stay connected with you about upcoming activities and events. It also ensures we continue to deliver quality programing.
NOTE: Our long-term volunteer intakes are twice a year Spring (March – May) and Summer (June – September). We have an option of: Single day, 1 week and 1 month.
